PE-HD polyethylene – properties

PE 300 (PE-HD) is a partially crystalline thermoplastic material with very high chemical resistance and high resistance to dynamic loads, therefore it is mainly used as lining and casing of tanks in which highly active chemicals are stored.

High density PE-HD polyethylene has the following properties:

  • density – 0.96 G/CM3,
  • continuous working temperature – from -50oC TO 80oC,
  • short-term working temperature – 100oC,
  • melting temperature – 135oC,
  • molar weight: approx. 250,000 g/mol,
  • natural color – black,
  • very low moisture absorption,
  • very good sliding properties,
  • very high abrasion resistance,
  • very easy processing – welding,
  • very low moisture absorption – 0.01/24H

The advantages of PE-HD polyethylene sheets

PE-HD polyethylene sheets are characterized primarily by high flexibility and excellent chemical resistance. They are very easy to machine process and easy to weld and weld. All this makes them used in all kinds of industries – from simple bottles to advanced tanks.PE-HD polyethylene sheets are characterized by: high resistance to most industrial chemicals, dissolution of strong oxidants, organic solvents and do not harm basic and acid salts, corrosion resistance, excellent moisture protection, very good electrical efficiency, ease of welding, rigidity and tensile strength, non-toxic and odorless.

PE 1000 Plastic Sheets

PE 1000 polyethylene plates are a special kind of products characterized by very high abrasion resistance, good vibration damping and chemical resistance. They have very good slip properties and certificates allowing them to come into direct contact with food. As a result, they are used in the food industry, as well as paper and machinery.

The most popular varieties i.e. PE-HD density are:PE1000.PE 80,PE 100,PE300,

The use of PE-HD polyethylene sheets

Due to its properties, polyethylene PE-HD is used in many industries. PE-HD containers and packaging are used in the pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetic industries.PE-HD panels are used in various types of chemical storage tanks, silos for bulk materials, in sewage treatment plants, in composting plants, in mass demolition tables, garbage dumps, mechanical elements subject to low loads, layouts that must be resistant to impacts, wall and ceiling linings, doors and equipment of food processing plants, water installations.PE-HD can be easily cut. That’s why we at PFS use it primarily for milling casting molds. Its chemical inertness allows it to be used in a wide range of industries. We also offer PE, EPE, ESD foams and much more.

PE-HD high density polyethylene composition

PE-HD boards should be stored on flat surfaces as uneven ground can contribute to deformation when stored for a long time. They should be placed in a covered area where they will not be exposed to UV radiation and contaminants that can cause them to scratch.

PE-HD polyethylene boards from Protective Foam Solutions

PE-HD is available in different sizes in standard black and white colors. It is possible to order plates in different color variants if the minimum order requirements are met. The plates are sold in thicknesses from 1 mm to 30 mm and density PE (80,100,300,1000).
